President Trump, Angela Merkel hold talks on Iran nuclear deal

Washington DC [United States] Apr 28 (NT): United States President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel exchanged views on the 2015 Iran nuclear deal during the latter's one-day working visit to Washington.

Merkel’s visit comes days after French President Emmanuel Macron's recent visit. The two leaders held joint presses meet at the White House.

Trump said that he and Merkel discussed the Iran nuclear deal, but didn't reveal if they had reached an agreement.

"The Iranian regime fuels violence, bloodshed and chaos all across the Middle East,” As CNN reported, citing president Trump, as saying at a joint press conference.

"We must ensure that this murderous regime does not even get close to a nuclear weapon, and that Iran ends its proliferation of dangerous missiles and its support for terrorism. No matter where you go in the Middle East, wherever there's a problem, Iran is right there," he further said.

However, it is uncertain if the two leaders come to any agreements in terms of the most heated discussion Iran nuclear deal.

On Tuesday, the US President Trump threatened to put down the Iran deal, calling it "insane," while adding that "it should have never ever been made".
