New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a rally in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on April 8, as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state. Additionally, he will visit the state again on April 14 to address a rally in Ramtek.

Prior to his rally in Ramtek, PM Modi will pay homage to Babasaheb Ambedkar at Dikhsha Bhoomi in Nagpur. Both Chandrapur and Ramtek will go to polls on April 19. Maharashtra holds 48 Lok Sabha seats, making it the second-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation after Uttar Pradesh. In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured victory in 23 out of the 25 seats it contested in alliance with the undivided Shiv Sena.

The elections for the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra will be conducted in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20. Prime Minister Modi has been actively participating in rallies across the country to bolster the BJP's chances in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

During a rally in Jamui, Bihar, on Thursday, PM Modi highlighted the developmental initiatives undertaken by his government, stating that the progress witnessed in the past decade was merely a "trailer" of what is yet to come if he secures a third consecutive term in office. Additionally, he addressed a rally in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, as part of the first phase of Lok Sabha polls.
