LONDON - The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is set to make a rare public appearance at the Wimbledon men's final on Sunday, despite her ongoing battle with cancer.

Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday that Kate, the wife of Prince William and heir to the throne, will grace the Royal Box on Centre Court to witness defending champion Carlos Alcaraz face off against Novak Djokovic.

However, she will not be present at Saturday's women's final between Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova. Wimbledon organizers announced that Deborah Jevans, the chair of the All England Club, will present the winner's trophy instead.

Since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March, Kate has maintained a low profile. Her role as patron of the All England Club, which she has held since 2016, includes the tradition of presenting trophies after each men's and women's singles final.

This appearance at Wimbledon marks only her second public outing since March, when she attended the birthday parade for King Charles III.
