Nowadays cases of frequent crime are all shocking. One of the cases that have come up recently is that of Gangtok. In this case, Professor of Sikkim University, Silajit Guha has been found guilty in a sexual assault case and will now be fired after being found guilty in a sexual assault case. According to reports received in the case, Silajit Guha, head of the Mass Communication Department of Sikkim University, was accused of sexual harassment of a university student and the victim complaint about it to a professor before the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the University.

The victim had lodged a complaint with the committee on May 22 this year and after that, the committee initiated an inquiry against Guha and submitted its report to the university on the 4th of June. The committee, in its investigation, found Professor Guha guilty and recommended action against him and the ICC report on behalf of the University was referred to the Executive Council of the University.

The Executive Council meeting also upheld the ICC's recommendation to take action against Guha and the Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University Avinash Khare confirmed this. In this case, he said, the guilty professor will be handed over the dismissal letter in the next one or two days.
