The selection committee wants these three Test players to meet at least two practice matches before the start of the Test series in New Zealand. According to media reports, a BCCI source has told many, 'The selection committee wants the Test Specialist players to reach New Zealand in advance, so that they will be well aware of the conditions there. This will give them more and more practice. The Indian team will leave for New Zealand in the first week of January.
