Private Hospital Doctors request WB government to reduce the GST on COVID-19 Testing kits

The West Bengal Government is involved in various precautionary measures and is pre-arranging the health department as it expects an increase in the number of COVID19 cases owing to the Durga festival celebrations. The government has announced various measure of the one is the reduction of COVID-19 test cost. Test cost of INR 2,250 has been reduced to INR 1500.

Private hospitals in Kolkata have welcomed the state government's decision to reduce the cost and also happy about fixing rates for ambulance services DEPENDING ON THE DISTANCE TRAVELLED. Now they have made a request to the state government on lowering the GST on COVID-19 test kits. Few doctors says during COVID-19 the private hospitals are facing severe loss for the past eight months and is expected to continue further till the contagion spread is curbed. The doctors said they will follow the state government decision. As the humanitarian level thinking doctors think of protecting people is their social responsibility. They said the private hospitals will reduce the cost of test amid sever losses but requests government to lower the GST on the test kids required for COVID-19 tests as did on PPE kits.

Doctors said the reduction of test cost for COVID-19 is a move to be welcomed but at the same time people has to follow COVID-19 protocols. They have to lead day to day activities by adopting the health protocol issued by the government and follow precautionary measures to keep the disease away.
