Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to oppose and negotiate the Centre's decision to hand over the management and operation of the Thiruvananthapuram aircraft floor to the Adani faction. According to a CMO statement, CM Pinarayi Vijayan has called a meeting at 4 pm today. This meeting will be conducted through video conference. The Central Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to lease Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports through Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

In February 2019, Adani Enterprises acquired officers operating 6 aircraft - Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati through the PPP model after a competitive bidding process. Vijayan has already written a letter to PM Narendra Modi in this case, in which he has urged him to intervene in the case and reconsider the decision. Vijayan has said that the state has several times been requested to hand over the management of the plane to the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in which the state government is the major stakeholder, which has also been ignored.

Vijayan has said in the letter that in view of this unilateral decision taken by the Government of India ignoring the things kept by the State Government, it will be difficult for us to offer help in its implementation. He further said that this decision is against the wishes of the people of the state. The ruling Left Party and the opposition Congress have come out openly against the Centre's decision to lease 3 aircraft floors to the Adani faction.
