Shimla: On Tuesday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his '400 paar' slogan, noting that he used to discuss it but has since stopped, suggesting his views are inconsistent. She asserted that people are weary of his politics and desire discussions on serious issues like inflation and unemployment.

"Earlier he used to speak but now he doesn't. His mind keeps changing. What I know is that people are tired of their politics. They want that there should be talk on inflation, unemployment, and several serious issues," Priyanka stated.

In a media interview earlier today, PM Modi remarked that the final phase of the general elections marks the end for those who make grand but false promises. When asked if he believes the BJP will secure over 400 seats, he responded, "I can see many things in it. One, our new era will begin. There is a sign in it. Secondly, the people who were dreaming big and making big promises, this is the last stage for them as well. This is not just the last stage of elections; this is the last stage of their situation as well."

Meanwhile, during a rally in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi accused the BJP of neglecting the state during recent floods.

"Soon after our government was formed, a disaster struck Himachal. Hundreds of people were left homeless, schools and roads were destroyed. Every Congress leader worked for the people during the disaster. Narendra Modi, who calls Himachal his second home, did not even come to see you," she said.

She also accused the BJP of attempting to undermine the elected government in Himachal Pradesh through monetary influence.

"In democracy, people are supreme—this is the ideology of Congress. But today, a different kind of politics has emerged in the BJP, which takes the name of religion but does not follow its path. Religion teaches us to speak the truth and respect the people. But BJP tries to topple the government elected by the people on the basis of money and power," she added.

At another election rally in Kutlehar, she claimed that PM Modi had failed to fulfill his promises from the 2019 elections.

"The public placed their faith in Modiji and made him win. He told the public that he would bring back black money from foreign countries, deposit 15 lakh rupees in people's accounts, provide 2 crore jobs every year, and double the income of farmers. But he did nothing. Now, at the time of elections, Narendra Modi has come to ask for votes from you, but he is not telling you what happened to the old promises."

Himachal Pradesh will vote in the final phase of elections on June 1. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won all four seats in the state. The Congress hopes to change this outcome in the upcoming polls. The election results will be announced on June 4.
