NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is expected to make visits to the troubled regions of Manipur and Tripura in the near future, according to a senior party official. Sudip Roy Barman, a senior Congress MLA from Tripura, revealed that he has already engaged in discussions with her about these impending visits. Speaking from the state Congress headquarters, Barman stated, "I have already held discussions with our leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and her plans include visits to Manipur and Tripura in the upcoming days."

During her visit to Tripura, the Congress leader will also make a stop at the Tripureswari temple situated in the Gomati district. Roy Barman, who has been permanently invited to the Congress Working Committee (CWC), was honored by his supporters at the party's office. Notably, he is the first Congress representative from Tripura to be welcomed into the CWC, which serves as the apex decision-making body of the party.

Reflecting on his inclusion, Roy Barman expressed that his induction into the CWC signifies not only a source of personal pride but also an emblem of honor for the Congress leaders and workers who have been devotedly serving in the northeastern state. Asish Kumar Saha, the State Congress president, conveyed his appreciation to the party leadership for selecting Roy Barman to join the CWC.

Barman went on to underscore the historical reality that the nation tends to confront crises during periods of Congress's decline. He took the opportunity to call upon the public to actively contribute to fortifying the Congress party.
