Lucknow: Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday attacked the Yogi Adityanath government of UP for not paying attention to issues like education. 18-year-old Mahima from Kanpur could not continue her studies due to financial constraints and committed suicide. Citing the same incident, Priyanka said, "The UP government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not paying attention to any such issue."

Priyanka, raising the issue, wrote in a tweet that, "Mahima, who is struggling with financial constraints, gave up her life if she could not study. The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh does not pay attention to any such issue. We all take this resolution that we will uphold the right to education and protection of every glory." Priyanka also shared a photo of a girl with the tweet, along with a newspaper report. The report said that when Mahima could not continue her studies after 10th, she committed suicide by hanging herself.

In another tweet, Priyanka said, "The aim of politics is to give priority to the issues of the public. Education, employment, help to the farmers... but this irresponsible government is just busy in divisive."
