Lucknow: Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is gearing up to cross the party's most reliable in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, has met Anita Yadav of Lakhimpur Kheri. Anita Yadav, a resident of Pasgawan in the district, was abused during the block chief election. After the meeting, Priyanka Gandhi said that BJP goons should be punished.

On meeting Anita, Priyanka said that she has come to meet her as a woman. I have not come here as a party.  Earlier, Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu had told the media that Priyanka Gandhi will meet Anita Yadav today. Anita, Lakhimpur Kheri area is a panchayat worker. Lallu said there is jungle raj in UP and Priyanka Gandhi is the only hope. Priyanka Gandhi stands by every woman with whom inadequate is happening under the Yogi rule.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Congress leaders for demonstrating at the Gandhi statue.  The case has been registered on charges of violation of Section 144 and Covid rules. The secretariat post in charge has lodged an FIR. The FIR has 5 office bearers including Congress state president Ajay Lallu nominated. The case has been registered at Hazratganj Kotwali.
