Beirut: Protests against the government have started after the explosion in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. On Thursday, hundreds of protesters took to the streets and shouted slogans against the government. Outraged people say that such a big accident happened due to the negligence of the government. There was a blast in Beirut on Tuesday. The number of people who died in this accident is increasing continuously.

According to the information, about 150 people have lost their lives while more than 5,000 have been injured. Many videos of this incident have surfaced on social media, which reveal the magnitude of the explosion. In the initial investigation, the matter of negligence has come to light. Officials say 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate have been kept in a warehouse at the port of Beirut since 2013, and a fire has caused the accident. There were fierce demonstrations against the government on Thursday in various areas. Outraged people ransacked and set fire to several shops, after which security forces had to resort to tear gas to control the congestion.

The protesters say the Beirut blast demonstrates the Lebanese government's incompetence. They questioned how 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate has been lying in cargo for so many years and no one noticed it? According to government media, on Thursday, a large number of people gathered in central Beirut and marched to Parliament. They fiercely set arson and sabotage and raised slogans against the government.
