FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said that the Bundesliga players who performed in protest against the death of George Floyd during the matches should not be punished but appreciated. Four young footballers in Bundesliga, Germany, made a statement demanding justice in protest against the death of the black man Floyd in the US and the killing of other black people at the hands of the police.

20-year-old England winger Jadon Sancho, 21-year-old right-back Ashraf Hakimi of Morocco and 22-year-old Marcus Thuram made statements on the field on Sunday. Earlier, American midfielder Westen McKenney of Schalke protested. When Sancho, who hit a hat-trick against Borussia Dartmond, landed the jersey after the first goal, his t-shirt had a hand written 'Justice for George Floyd'. His complaint has been filed for this. He wrote on Twitter, "The first professional hat-trick. Sour sweet experience because more important things are happening in the world. We have to express our opinion on them. Everyone has to fight for justice together. "Black man Floyd died in Minneapolis last week. A white police officer held his neck with his knee, causing difficulty in breathing and he died. Protests have continued throughout the world following Floyd's death. Thurum staged a symbolic protest on the field after scoring the goal while Mckenney had a bandage on his arm that read "Justice for George."

"There is no doubt that these players who perform during the Bundesliga matches should not be punished, but they are entitled to praise," said Infantino, in a statement issued by FIFA. This statement will be in the letter to be sent to all 211 FIFA member associations. Uefa, the top unit of European football, has already given permission to pay tribute to Floyd during the matches. At the same time, the English Football Association had said to follow FIFA's stance.
