Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir administration has now taken major action against former IAS Shah Faisal after Omar Abdullah-Mehbooba Mufti. Former IAS Shah Faisal, who left the administrative service, has been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA). IAS topper Shah Faisal has been under house arrest since the removal of Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir and he is currently in custody in Srinagar.

According to the news agency ANI, the former IAS Shah Faisal, who has been under house arrest since the central government's decision to withdraw the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, has now been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) with stringent provisions. This law allows the administration to detain a person for 6 months without trial.

After the removal of Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir, former CM Farooq Abdullah, former CM Omar Abdullah, PDP President, and former CM Mehbooba Mufti, Ali Mohammad Sagar, etc have also been booked under PSA. There are two provisions under PSA law - threat to public order and security of the state. According to the first provision, a person can be held in custody for 6 months without trial and under the second provision, a person can be kept in custody for two years without trial.
