CHENNAI: Actress Shruti Haasan has started shooting for her international project, 'The Eye', directed by Daphne Schmon, and written by Emily Carlton.
The biggest and most reputable production company in Greece, Agronauts productions, is co-producing the movie with support from Fingerprint Content. In Athens and Corfu, Shruti has already started filming the movie.
The actress has made waves internationally with her debut in "Treadstone," her independent music, and is methodically picking topics near to her heart -- ones that can have an impact all over the world, after establishing her mettle in industries across India.
According to sources, "The Eye" is a psychological suspense film that tells the tale of a widow who visits a Greek island to scatter her husband's ashes.
In addition to Shruti, the movie has a stellar cast that includes Linda Marlowe ('The Duchess'), Mark Rowley ('The Last Kingdom', 'One Day'), Anna Savva ('True Horror'), and others.
Shruti, a WWF ambassador, is overjoyed that Greenshoot, a sustainability company, would be working with the movie. The business encourages the creative sectors to take action against climate change and environmental sustainability. They have assisted over 1500 productions across 26 nations since 2009.
In her analysis of the movie, producer Melanie Dicks stated: "The Eye, the result of four years of collaboration between Daphne Schmon and Emily Carlton, is an ambitious and tremendously intriguing period piece that starts off our slate with an exciting first feature. With a strong shareholder and production group, we have an amazing team. It's a fantastic project to start with."
