Good News: Petrol cheaper by Rs 2.43 in this state

Puducherry: Petrol and diesel prices have crossed Rs 100 per litre in many parts of the country. In view of skyrocketing petrol prices, the Union Territory of Puducherry government has cut the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol by 3 per cent. Following the cut, the price of petrol in the Puducherry and Karaikal region of the state has come down by Rs 2.43 per litre.

The decision on reduction in VAT on petrol was taken by Puducherry CM N Rangasamy at a regional cabinet meeting earlier and was given the green signal by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Sundararajan. Tell you that a week ago Tamil Nadu had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 3 per litre. On the other hand, state-owned oil companies have not changed petrol and diesel prices in any way today. According to the new rate, petrol is being sold at Rs 101.49 per litre in the capital Delhi today. On the other hand, the price of diesel is Rs 88.92 per litre.

Petrol is also at Rs 107.52 per litre and diesel at 96.48 paise per litre in Mumbai, the country's economic capital. Tell you that petrol prices in Puducherry and Karaikal have come down below Rs 100 since the cut in VAT. Now the price of one litre of petrol in Puducherry is Rs 99.52 and in Karaikal is Rs 99.30 per litre.
