The Government of Puducherry decided to reopen the schools for classes 9 to 12 from September 1 in Puducherry, Karaikal, and Yanam regions. The government has instructed all the heads of the schools to carry out preliminary works before September 1. They have also been asked to follow all the SOPs set by the government for safety purposes for all.
The government on Friday said that schools for the students from classes 9-12 will reopen from 1st September. "It has been decided to reopen schools for the students from classes IX-XII for the academic year 2021-2022 from 01.09.2021 in Puducherry, Karaikal, and Yanam regions," PT Rudra Goud, director of school education, said in a circular.

The union territory reported 80 new Covid cases during the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to 1,23,231 while the test positivity rate stood at 2.67%, a senior Health Department official said on 27 August. The test positivity rate was 2.67 percent as against Thursday''s 3.18 percent. The fatality and recovery rates were 1.47 percent and 97.91 percent respectively, he added.
