Tragic accident: Truck and car collide, 5 people died in Punjab

Amritsar: The news of a painful accident is coming out from Punjab. The car caught fire after a collision of a car and truck on the Sangrur-Sunam route here, after which five people aboard the car died scorched. Among those who died was a doctor. On giving information about the incident, a senior police officer has said that the five people were returning to Moga on Monday night after attending a wedding in the town of Dirba in Sangrur district.

While giving information about the accident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sangrur, Vivek Sheel Soni has said that one of the dead was a doctor. According to the information given by SSP, this incident is of late night. Here a car collided with the diesel tank of the truck and spilt oil, causing a fire in the car. The occupants of the car had no time to get out and the people inside were burnt alive.

The car had to be cut out and the bodies were taken out. Police said the truck driver absconded from the scene, although he is said to be caught soon. A car was set on fire after hitting a tree near Phagwara Bypass Chowk in Hoshiarpur district two days ago, in which a senior lawyer and his assistant were burnt alive.
