Amritsar: A shocking incident has come to light from Phagwara of Punjab. After the death of a patient admitted to the Civil Hospital in Phagwara, angry family members beat up a doctor fiercely. The patient was seriously injured after being hit by a train, after which he was brought to the Phagwara Civil Hospital. Where he died during treatment. Angered by this, the family members thrashed Dr Ashish Jaitley, who was on duty, badly. 

After this incident of assault with Jaitley, the rest of the doctors and staff of the hospital also raised their hands and started protesting in the hospital premises itself. Giving information about this incident, the victim doctor Ashish Jaitley said that around 8 am on Saturday morning some people had brought a seriously injured teenager to the hospital. These people informed the family members of the teenager about the incident. 

Due to being hit by the train, the patient's condition was critical, so we asked him to be taken to a higher centre. Jaitley has told that when we were giving stitches to the patient. At the same time, the teenager lost his life. We tried a lot to save him, but he could not survive. Ashish said, 'After the death of the teenager, his family members and some other people thrashed me while on duty.' At the same time, in this case, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaspreet Singh has informed that a case has been registered against half a dozen people under relevant sections of the IPC. Three including a woman have been detained. Later the doctors and other workers called off the strike.
