'900 secret documents sent to Pakistan,' Punjab Police arrested two Army Jawans

Amritsar: Punjab Police has arrested 2 Army personnel who were spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. Police have recovered intelligence documents from them. According to media reports, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta has informed in this regard on Tuesday.

"Punjab Police has arrested two Army personnel for spying for Pakistan's ISI and providing the information. Confidential documents relating to the functioning and deployment of the Indian Army have been recovered from them. The accused shared 900 confidential documents with the ISI.'' According to reports, one of the arrested jawans has been identified as Sepoy Harpreet Singh (23). He is a resident of Cheech village in Amritsar and was posted in Anantnag. He joined the Indian Army in 2017 and was associated with 19 Rashtriya Rifles.

The second accused is also a resident of Puniyan village in Tarantaran. He has been identified as Sepoy Gurbheb Singh (23). He belongs to 18 Sikh Light Infantry and was posted as a clerk in Kargil. He joined the Indian Army in 2015. Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta said that the two accused (Army personnel) had already leaked photographs of more than 900 classified documents related to the country's defense and national security to drug smuggler Ranveer Singh from across the border in a span of just 4 months between February and May 2021, and were further handed over to Pakistan intelligence officials.
