MOSCOW: Only once a peace deal is signed can Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meet, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"For us, nothing has changed. We don't rule out the prospect of a meeting like this for our President "On Tuesday, Peskov told a daily briefing. "However, we reiterate that such a meeting is only conceivable after the text of the document has been agreed upon," he added.
Moscow and Kiev have had multiple rounds of talks in order to finalise a pact to settle Ukraine's protracted crisis.
The idea of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was dismissed by Russia's senior negotiator on Sunday, underscoring that the two sides are still at differences over territorial concerns.
Last month, Zelensky requested a meeting with Putin, but top Russian officials have stated that prior to the two men speaking face to face, agreements must be in place.
