People like to eat the meat of different animals including fish, goat, pig and many more. Now, soon Pythons may be included in this list. The predator might soon become the prey if Florida scientists can confirm that Burmese pythons are safe for consumption to eat.

Pythons are all set to grace restaurant menus in the United States’ Florida. If scientists in Florida confirm that Burmese pythons are safe for consumption, the species may soon appear in restaurants’ main course menu. Burmese pythons, found in abundance in South Florida have been creating havoc posing a serious risk to native wildlife in the region. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Florida Department of Health are working together to determine how safe the consumption of pythons is.

FWC Spokeperson told CNN. “We are currently in the tissue-collection stage of the project, and COVID has pushed our timeline back a bit,” FWC spokeswoman Susan Neel told CNN. She further added, “The plan is to have most of these samples come from pythons that are caught by our contractor program."
