New Delhi: Because of problems faced by the global system due to China's aggressive attitude in the Indo-Pacific Ocean region, the strategy of the Quad countries i.e. India, America, Japan, and Australia seems to be coming down on the action. On Friday, the first meeting of the heads of these countries has been completed. In this meeting, PM Modi said, "Quad will prove to be an important link in bringing stability in this area." India's attitude towards China was moderate during this period, while Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and US President Joe Biden were more modulated. The draft of the meeting was kept wider than China.

PM Modi said in his address, 'We are united in our commitment to democratic values and to make the Indo-Pacific region free, open, and equal opportunity for all. Our agenda today is vaccine manufacturing, climate change, and new technologies, which makes the Quad a positive force for the world.' Apart from this, PM Modi further said, 'I consider it an extension of the idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam of India, the essence of which is that the whole world is one family. We will work more closely than ever to make the Indo-Pacific region safe, stable and prosperous. Today's meeting suggests that the time for the quad has arrived. This will prove to be an important pillar in maintaining stability across the region.'

The meeting started on the virtual platform between the Chiefs of the Quad i.e. PM Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison, and Japan's PM Yoshihide Suga on Friday at 7 pm Indian time.
