Another The Crown star pays tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II! After Olivia Colman and Claire Foy, The Crown star Matt Smith also paid his respects to the Queen who passed away on September 8 at the age of 96. Matt in his appearance on the TODAY show was asked if any of the royal family members had watched the show, to which he replied that the Queen herself watched the show.

The House of the Dragon star who played Prince Philip from Season 1-2 said, "I heard The Queen watched it. Yeah, yeah, and she used to watch it on a projector on a Sunday night apparently and I know that [Prince] Philip definitely didn't.” Smith described how a close friend of his, who was seated next to the late Duke of Edinburgh, couldn't help but inquire as to whether the adored member of the royal family had watched the Netflix series. Prince Philip seemed to answer his question in an odd way, "Don't be ridiculous."

Furthermore, He also plans on returning to the UK for The Queen’s funeral procession on September 19, "I think it's a piece of history. I don't think we'll ever have a monarch that serves for 70 years again. She saw 13 prime ministers come and go, 14 presidents or something like that and I just want to be in London. I want to experience it, I want to share in the ceremony of it, really."

He further added that his mother will be attending Queen Elizabeth II’s procession, whereas Matt might not be able to attend it and would watch it instead, "I might watch it in my local pub actually with a group of friends."
