New Delhi: The first match of the IPL 14 season, which begins tomorrow, will be played between five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But Rohit's team has suffered a big setback before IPL 2021. Mumbai Indians star Quinton de Kock will have to sit out in the first match.

In fact, de Kock cannot be a part of the match against RCB due to strict protocols of the coronavirus. De Kock arrived in India on April 7. The BCCI had already made it clear that players coming from abroad will have to remain quarantined for 7 days. De Kock has arrived in India after playing an ODI series against Pakistan.

Cricket of South Africa had allowed players playing IPL to come to India after the second ODI. With Cricket South Africa eyeing this year's T20 World Cup, all the players who played IPL have been sent to India ahead of the T20 series. He scored 503 runs in 16 IPL matches. De Kock is likely to join Mumbai Indians playing 11 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 17.
