Melbourne: Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has achieved a very special place in the Boxing Day Test match played between India and Australia. In the second Test match being played in Melbourne, Ashwin scored 23 overs in the second innings and with this, he crossed the figure of 20,000 balls in Test cricket. He has now joined the list of veterans like Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi.

In Test cricket, the record of bowling the most balls for India is recorded in the name of Anil Kumble. He has bowled 40,850 balls in his Test career. In second place is Harbhajan Singh. He has bowled 28,580 balls in his international Test career. Kapil Dev (27,740 balls) and Bishan Singh Bedi (21,364 balls) are named in the third and fourth place respectively.

There is a strong possibility of Team India winning in the second Test. On the third day of the second Test being played between the two teams, the Indian team's first innings was reduced to 326 runs. On the basis of first innings, the Indian team got a lead of 131 runs. India bowled Australia for 195 runs in the first innings on the first day of the match. Australia could only manage 133/6 runs in their second innings at the end of the day's play. Now he is only 2 runs ahead of India.
