Patna: Rabri Devi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), officially submitted her nomination for the upcoming Bihar MLC elections on Monday. Joining her were four other candidates from the Mahagathbandhan coalition, including Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Dr. Urmila Thakur, Syed Faisal Ali from the RJD, and Shashi Yadav from the CPI-ML.

Accompanied by her husband and RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi confidently displayed a victory sign as they submitted the nomination papers. The presence of leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Tej Pratap Yadav further underscored the party's determination.

In a statement following Rabri Devi's nomination, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence in the RJD's prospects, particularly highlighting the representation of three women among the five candidates from the Mahagathbandhan.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had previously announced its candidates for the MLC elections in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. For Bihar, Mangal Pandey, Dr. Lal Mohan Gupta, and Anamika Singh were among those named. Additionally, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Khalid Anwar, representing the Janata Dal (United) quota, had already filed their nominations.

The nomination process marked the culmination of political preparations for the March 21 MLC polls in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Notable leaders from various parties, including State BJP leaders, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and senior JD-U leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, were present during the event. March 11, Monday, served as the deadline for filing nominations for the upcoming elections.
