CHENNAI: Seven MBBS students of the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore were suspended by the college management after they subjected juniors to ragging.
A first-year MBBS student had posted the video in which he and other batch mates were subjected to ragging by seniors. The juniors were forced to kneel in the muck outside the college hostel in the viral video, and water was sprayed on them from a hose.
Even when water was being sprayed on them, the junior students were made to engage in some physical exercise in the muck.
A junior student who experienced ragging in Vellore in Tamil Nadu told the media that they were abused physically and sexually.
A doctor tweeted the first-year MBBS student's post, and after it got viral, the management took action against the senior students.
Seven senior students were expelled from the college, and the administration has opened a new investigation into their behaviour.
A "walking race" in which students supposedly had to play out sexual actions with the ground and their fellow classmates was required of them. The freshmen were forced to wander the hostel in their underpants while being doused with fire hydrant water.
Visuals of the incident making the rounds on Twitter show students escaping the fire hydrant's water spray while they are still in their undies. Other students were seen rubbing their bodies against a puddle of water on the ground as the video continued to show two students rubbing against each other with the phrase "seniors urging juniors to rub against each other."
