NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, blasted the Centre on Tuesday over unemployment in the country, allegling that 45 crore people have lost hope of getting job.
He took to Twitter to say: "New India's new slogan is that there is unemployment in every home. Modiji is the first prime minister in 75 years whose "masterstrokes" have resulted in 45 crore people losing hope of finding job." The Congress has been focusing on the government's role in the country's unemployment and inflation.
Mallikarjun Kharge had previously stated: "Inflation has reached its highest level in 17 months, at 7 percent. I respectfully request that @narendramodi ji withdraw these 'Achhe Din' immediately. India's people have had their fill of 'happy times.'" The grand-old party has been blaming the Narendra Modi-led government for rising inflation and persistent price increases in petroleum and other necessities.
Inflation is anticipated to cross 6 percent in FY23, according to several reports, due to increased food price pressure in the near term (summer effect, international pricing, greater transport costs, supply chains) and ongoing input cost pressure in the non-food segment.
