New Delhi: Former Team India captain and Director of National Cricket Academy Rahul Dravid will be the next coach of the Indian cricket team. This has been confirmed by sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the media. Dravid is reportedly set to become the head coach of Team India after talks with BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. The discussions took place during the IPL final on Friday night.

According to sources, Dravid has been offered Rs 10 crore for the post. At the same time, they will also get a bonus. The salary of current coach Ravi Shastri is Rs 8.5 crore. Dravid will take over after the T20 World Cup from October 17 to November 14. His tenure will be of two years. The New Zealand team is touring India in November, just after the T20 World Cup. The three-match T20 and two-Test series between the two teams will be played from November 17. Dravid has earlier coached the India-A and U-19 teams.

Quoting sources, the news agency said Dravid is ready to become the head coach and there cannot be good news for the Indian team. New coaches will now be searched for the rest of the locations. Current batting coach Vikram Rathore will continue in his post. Team India is currently undergoing a transformation and young players are coming into the team.
