The Youth Congress activists in order to protest against the Centre's ban on the sale of cattle for slaughtering in Kerala's Kannur publically butchered a calf.
A day after the incident the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Twitter posted "What happened in Kerala yesterday is thoughtless, barbaric & completely unacceptable to me &the Congress Party. I strongly condemn the incident,"
The police in the matter have registered a case under Section 120 (A) of the Kerala Police Act, for slaughtering the calf in public view.
