Rahul Gandhi demands investigation into Facebook Hate Speech Case

New Delhi: Facebook is surrounded by the controversy arising out of hate speech. Following the new revelations by the Wall Street General (WCJ), former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi has demanded action against Facebook and WhatsApp. Rahul Gandhi has said that this matter should be investigated immediately and when the organisation is found guilty, then action should be taken.

Rahul Gandhi, MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala, has said, "The global media has fully exposed the attack on Facebook and WhatsApp on India's democracy and social harmony. No one, even the foreign company, can be allowed to interfere in the affairs of our country. It should be investigated immediately and the guilty should be punished".

The Congress has demanded the JPC investigation of the entire case, the criminal investigation of Facebook India and the nominees' cases and to stop all the approvals and licenses pending for Facebook and WhatsApp till the investigation is completed. Congress veteran Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that the role of Facebook and WhatsApp is undermining democracy is now undeniable and beyond doubt.
