New Delhi: Former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi has questioned the probe into the blast at a stone quarry in Shivamogga district on Thursday night. Rahul expressed deep sorrow over the death of 10 people in the quarry blast and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families. Rahul Gandhi said that the news of the blast at a stone quarry in Karnataka is tragic. Condolences to the families of the victims. Such incidents should be examined in depth so as to avoid such tragedies in future.

At least 10 people lost their lives in a blast in a stone quarry late Thursday night at Shivamogga in Karnataka. The incident took place at Hunsodoo village along the Shivamogga-Hangal National Highway passing through Swalunga and Shikarpura. Shikarpura is located 290 km from Bengaluru and is located at CM Yeddyurappa's parliamentary constituency.

Shivamogga District Collector NAND Shivkumar informed that a dynamite blast occurred at a crusher site in Hunsodoo village, in which at least 10 people lost their lives. The explosives are believed to have been carried out for mining purposes, which led to a sudden explosion, killing several people there and injuring several others.
