As Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes about the day as usual, wishes have started pouring in for the leader as he turned 71 today. From UP CM Yogi Adityanath  andHome minister Amit Shah and Digvijaya Singh, several top politicians have been tweeting out messages for the prime minister. PM Modi, however, continued with his duties and called for a meeting of all secretaries tomorrow to review ongoing development works. He is also scheduled to virtually address the SCO summit around 11:30 am.

Some 50 million postcards thanking PM Modi for his “pro people welfare” schemes, film screenings and exhibitions on his life, blood donation camps, cleanliness and vaccination drives are among the activities planned by the BJP to mark the prime minister’s birthday.

The party’s youth wing will mark the day as ‘Service and Dedication Campaign’, while local units of the BJP will organise prayer ceremonies and fairs in their areas with stalls set up to encourage people to download the NaMoApp, “which will help them communicate with the prime minister directly”.
