Rahul Gandhi, leader of India’s opposition in the Lok Sabha, is set to visit the United States from September 8 to 10. Gandhi’s visit will include important stops in Dallas and Washington DC. He mentioned, “Since Rahul Gandhi assumed the role of opposition leader, there has been significant interest from the Indian diaspora, diplomats, academics, and business leaders seeking interactions with him.” Pitroda, who oversees the IOC’s activities in 32 countries, noted the high demand for Gandhi’s engagement.
In Dallas, Gandhi’s visit will start on September 8. He plans to focus on academic and student communities at the University of Texas and participate in a large community event. At this gathering, he will interact with local technocrats and leaders during a dinner.
Activities in Washington DC
Following his time in Dallas, Gandhi will head to Washington DC. There, he will meet with think tanks and members of the National Press Club to discuss various issues and build connections with influential figures and organizations.
Pitroda highlighted the importance of these meetings, pointing out the strong interest from the Indian diaspora and various sectors. He noted enthusiasm from areas with a robust Congress presence, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, and Gurugram.
