New Delhi: Former Congress national Rahul Gandhi on Saturday targeted the government over the China issue, a day after PM Narendra Modi announced the repeal of all three agricultural laws. Rahul Gandhi said the government should now accept the reality of the Chinese occupation. Agreeing to repeal three agricultural laws brought by the Modi government last year and the demand of agitating farmers and opposition parties, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "The truth of Chinese occupation should also be accepted now''.

Rahul Gandhi has been constantly questioning the government about the current situation on LAC with China. India and China on Thursday agreed to hold the 14th round of military talks at the earliest to reach an agreement on conflict sites adjoining LAC in eastern Ladakh. The eastern Ladakh border standoff between Indian and Chinese forces erupted on May 5 last year following a violent clash in Pangong Lake areas. The two sides had then gradually increased their deployment with thousands of troops as well as heavy weapons along the border.

On 15th June last year, tension soared after a violent clash in the Galwan Valley. After military and diplomatic talks, the two sides completed the process of withdrawing their forces on the northern and southern banks of Pangong Lake in February and the Gogra region in August. At present, there are about 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers from both countries on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
