New Delhi: Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi may get a new home soon. If sources are to be believed, the search for a new home for Rahul Gandhi is over. It can also be inspected soon and then they can shift to it. Let us tell you that the house where Rahul Gandhi is going to shift belongs to late Sheila Dikshit, veteran Congress leader and Chief Minister of Delhi.
As per reports, there is a possibility that Rahul Gandhi may soon shift to Sheila Dixit's Nizamuddin East flat. Till now Sheila Dikshit's son and Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit was living in this flat, but now Sandeep Dikshit will go to live in his aunt's house near it. Sources say that Rahul Gandhi has liked this house and has also agreed to shift to it on rent. Means Rahul Gandhi will now live in the rental house. Till now Rahul Gandhi was living with his mother Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath. But, due to Sonia Gandhi's security, her staff, office and all the same arrangements being with Rahul too, there was less space there. Although, the bungalow at 10 Janpath is very big, but if leaders and workers used to reach to meet both Sonia and Rahul at the same time, then it would have been very difficult in terms of security.

That's why Rahul Gandhi was looking for a rental house for the last few days and now he has liked Sheila Dixit's house. This will be the first time after entering politics, when he is going to live in a rented house. However, no official announcement has been made in this regard yet. Sources have confirmed that Rahul Gandhi's team went to see the flat a week back and they liked it too. Since Sandeep Dixit is going to live in another house, Rahul Gandhi can now shift to this house. At present, the final decision on this is yet to be taken.
Let us tell you that, in the same year, a court in Surat convicted Rahul Gandhi of criminal defamation in 2019 on the statement containing Modi surname. The court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in prison, after which the Congress leader had to lose his membership of the Lok Sabha, as per the Supreme Court's order. After losing the Lok Sabha membership, Rahul Gandhi was given a notice to vacate his official residence, after which he vacated the bungalow at 12, Tughlaq. At present, he is living with his mother Sonia Gandhi in a government bungalow at 10, Janpath Road.
