Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi reached Lakhimpur Kheri last Wednesday evening. Here, the two were the first to visit Palia and met the family members of the farmer Lovepreet who was killed in the riots. As part of the information received, the two leaders interacted with Lovepreet's family at the house at Chaukra Farm in Palia and assured them of all possible help. Rahul and Priyanka met Lovepreet's parents and two sisters to share their grief. At the same time, they assured to support the family in the struggle for justice. After staying at Lovepreet's house for about 20 minutes, Rahul and Priyanka rushed to the house of Raman Kashyap, a journalist who was killed in the riots. Here they met his family members.

Rahul went inside with Priyanka at around 10.38 pm and interacted with his family Raman's father Ram Dulare, Raman's wife Aradhana and brother Pawan Kashyap were present. After talking to the family for about 22 minutes here, they assured them of justice. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said, "He is with him. All possible help will be provided.'' He also said, "The accused will also be arrested. After saying all this, Rahul Gandhi left.''
