Rail Electrification speeds up, Says Railway Minister Piyush Goyal

Railways Minister Piyush Goyal expresses his happiness in the Railways electrification process as the Indian Railways has set a target to electrify the entire percentage of railway lines across India by 2023. On track to complete 28143 KM of railway track electrification by December 2023, the critical section of Dighawara- Bandikui route between Ajmer- Delhi has been electrified and Union Railways minister Piyush Goyal has inaugurated the section and flagged off first train on this newly electrified route at the function organized at Dhigawara station. 

Speaking on the occasion, Minister thanked PM for his support in fast pace and quality achievements in the sector. He recalled the previous electrification work done on the Kota-Mumbai line in Rajasthan 35 years ago and after that only in this regime Electrification process is being carried out. 240 Km route was electrified every year in Rajasthan and a total of 1433 Km have been electrified so far in 5 years. More than 66% Broad gauge rail route has already been electrified. 41500 KM already electrified. 

The electrified train will go between Delhi and Ajmer. After this, the diesel trains will be stopped, resulting in eliminate pollution as well as the dependence on the fuel imported from outside and trains will be operated from the electricity produced in self-reliant India, saving a significant revenue. Also, the average speed of trains will increase and there will be development of industries, agro-based businesses and progress of villagers and farmers. He emphasized the Kisan Rail operation dedicated to the farmers.
