Between Corona and the lockdown, the Indian Railways has returned Rs 1,885 crore to passengers for cancellation of tickets booked online from 21 March to 31 May. Railway Public Relations Officer Deepak Kumar said, "After the tickets were canceled, the passengers have returned the money in the same account from which payment was made at the time of booking. Due to online booking, consumers did not face the hassle of going back to the PRS counter.'

To prevent the corona infection, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown on 24 March. During this time the operations of passenger trains were stopped. Amidst the corona crisis, Railway Board President Vinod Kumar Yadav said that in the country we started running Shramik Special trains from May 1 and till now a total of 4050 trains were run. More than 54 lakh migrant laborers were transported to their home state by these Shramik special trains. The chairman of the Railway Board said that about 80 percent of these trains were run for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Extradition of Vijay Mallya to India can be done anytime
During the lockdown, the demand for labor special trains run for the return of migrant laborers home has now started to decrease. In the last 29 days, a total of more than 54 lakh migrant laborers have been transported by labor special trains to their destinations. Indian Railways claims that trains will be run till full return of workers and demand of states.
