Chalisgaon: Several districts of Maharashtra are witnessing flood situations due to heavy rains. In fact, the Titur river passing through Chalisgaon tehsil of Jalgaon district of the state was flooded suddenly today and half of the city has been inundated. It all happened here early this morning. A major accident is said to have occurred in Chalisgaon this morning due to a sudden flood in the river. The accident is said to be at a time when most people were sleeping.

No one got a chance to cope with the sudden flood. Some people are feared to be floating due to this. On the other hand, the district administration has called the NDRF for help. According to reports, 200 cattle have also been washed away from the Mundkheda Shivra area in the flood. Let me tell you that the rains are still going on in Chalisgaon Tehsil and due to this, the River Girna, tributaries, and drains flowing under the Girna dam have been flooded. At the same time, water is now being released from dams and lakes. With this, the situation is now expected to worsen.

Locals say that several villages in Chalisgaon tehsil started raining after midnight. As a result, Mundkheda, Wakli, Rokre, Pangaon and Borkhedi villages have been flooded. It is also said that two tractors and 200 cattle have been washed away from Wakli village. The rain has brought the vehicular movement to a standstill and long queues of vehicles due to rock slide at Chalisgaon-Kannada Ghat.
