CHENNAI: Rain is expected in the southern and interior regions of Tamil Nadu over the next few days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

On Monday, a low-pressure region is expected to emerge over the southeast Bay of Bengal, IMD predicted.. According to the meteorological bureau, this low-pressure area is rare for this time of year.

Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Cuddalore, Karaikkal, and the Union Territory of Puducherry, according to the department, may see isolated rainfall. According to the meteorological authority, the easterly wind convergence is to blame for the rain.

Officials from the IMD also predicted that cyclonic circulation would emerge over the south Andaman Sea and its environs on Sunday. On Monday, this could have an impact on the establishment of a low-pressure region over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the south Andaman Sea.

Until Monday, Chennai may have partly cloudy skies with mist or haze in the morning hours. The highest and lowest temperatures are expected to be 32 and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.
