Indian cinema is struggling in the wake of the pandemic. There aren't many blockbuster films in the industry, but their enormous success has undoubtedly given the industry some much-needed relief. However, there are some films that made enormous profits in between. You might be surprised to learn that Kannada films, not Bollywood films, topped the list of money-makers.

Pathan and KGF 2 were also beaten.

RRR and Pathan come to mind when thinking of the biggest hits from the past two years. The two highest-grossing Indian films over the last two calendar years have been these two. They are dwarfed, however, by a Kannada blockbuster in terms of net profit margin. That movie is KGF: Chapter 2, starring Yash.

Yash became the topper.

According to DNA Report K, Pathan, which made 1050 crore rupees worldwide, gave its producers a profit of about 600 crore rupees. In contrast, RRR, which brought in Rs 1200 crore for World Wild, only made Rs 600 crore in profit. In contrast, KGF 2 made a profit of more than 900 crores out of its total budget of 1200 crores.

KGF 2 made a record

The budget of KGF 2 was significantly lower than that of both of these films, which accounts for the incredible amount. RRR was estimated to have cost 500 crore rupees. The producers of Pathan invested 300 crore rupees in its creation. But KGF 2 will set you back about 100 crore. Therefore, it made the most profit possible.

Dangal remains in the lead.

KGF Chapter 2 has received a bumper, however. It still appeared to be a long way from Dangal, the box office success of Aamir Khan. Dangal had brought in $2,000 crore worldwide. While only 100 crores were spent on its production. A net profit of about Rs. 1500 crore was made by the movie. Only one other Indian film, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, has made a profit of more than Rs 1000 crore. It is SS Rajamouli's magnum opus.
