Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot adopted the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP) on Tuesday. An additional budget provision of Rs 40 crore has been authorised for the anticipated lumpsum contribution and SGST recharge to incentivise the purchase of such vehicles.
According to officials, the pollution created by diesel-petrol vehicles in the state would decrease as a result of the implementation of this regulation. In the 2019-20 budget, the Chief Minister announced the adoption of an Electric Vehicle Policy.
He stated that the state government was dedicated to promoting the use of all forms of electric vehicles. According to the battery capacity, the government will repay Rs 5,000 to 10,000 in SGST each vehicle for two-wheelers and Rs 10,000 to 20,000 for three-wheelers. Electric vehicles have also been exempted from the state's Motor Vehicle Tax.
A provision has been included in the new policy to make all forms of recharges to e-vehicle vendors within seven days.
