New Delhi: In the wake of Rajasthan day, being celebrated today, March 30, Indian president President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Rajasthan on it's statehood Day.

"Congratulations to the countrymen, especially the people of Rajasthan, on Rajasthan Day. With the multi-colored beauty of nature and folk life, the people of Rajasthan have cherished the tradition of gaiety and hospitality. This land of heroic stories has also given birth to many successful entrepreneurs. Best wishes for the golden future of the state," the President tweeted.

Mr Naidu, in his message to the people of the state, said Rajasthan, the 'Land of Rajas', is known for its rich history, beautiful culture and architectural grandeur. "The state has played an important role in national development," the Vice-President wrote on Twitter.

Prime Minister Modi, too, extended his greetings. "Many wishes of Rajasthan Day to all the brothers and sisters of Rajasthan, the state which is known for its rich culture and rich heritage," Mr Modi said.

The state of Rajasthan was formed on March 30, 1949 when Rajputana, a name adopted by the British for its dependencies in the region, was merged into the Republic of India. Since then, March 30 is every year celebrated as the Rajasthan 'Diwas'.
