Rajasthan Govt to continue ‘Shudh Ke Liye Yudh’ campaign

Making public health as the main concern of the state, the Rajasthan government has now decided to continue a campaign named ‘Shudh Ke Liye Yudh’ throughout the year. The campaign is aimed at food testing, controlling adulteration.

The campaign against food adulteration would continue in Rajasthan throughout the year. Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma has said that adulteration is a subject of serious concern throughout the country and keeping the health of people on priority, Rajasthan had commenced the 'Shudh Ke Liye Yudh' campaign. "Rajasthan for the first time in the country has started giving a prize of Rs 51,000 to the informer for giving correct information on adulteration," said Sharma.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed to continue the campaign on priority and the health department is now making efforts under 'Nirogi Rajasthan' campaign to take action against the adulterators throughout the year.

Earlier such special campaigns were launched during the festive season only.“We will be taking the help of Swasthya Mitras appointed under Nirogi Rajasthan in the state. They will make people aware to check the MRP and manufacturing date prior to buying any packed edible items and not to buy expired items,” Raghu Sharma said. The health department has planned to keep the phone number of food safety officers and district control rooms in the public domain for gathering information about adulteration taking place in any area.
