Udaipur: Rajasthan Police said on Friday that Bhupendra Saran, the main suspect in the case involving the question paper leak from the government teacher recruitment exam for the second grade, had been arrested in Bangalore. The primary suspect, Bhupendra Saran, was taken to Udaipur after being detained by Rajasthan police yesterday at Bangalore Airport.
On Thursday night, a squad from the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Rajasthan Police apprehended Saran at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. According to the police, complaints have been filed against him at two different Udaipur police stations.
Saran was brought to Udaipur on Friday, according to the police, for questioning on the second-grade paper leak.
The police said, Saran is currently being held at the Hathipol police station in Udaipur.
The SOG-ATS (anti-terrorist squad) officials carried out the operation as directed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Jodhpur (rural) Dharmendra Singh Yadav.
After spending the previous six days camped out in bangalore, the SOG was able to capture Saran, according to the police.
Police said that a reward of Rs 1 lakh had been offered for information leading to Bhupendra Saran's capture. Saran, however, continued to elude the police as a result of his frequent moves.
Six persons were detained after a Rajasthan Police search on Bhupendra Saran's girlfriend's Jaipur home in December of last year.
According to a statement from the Police Commissionerate, Jaipur, Rajasthan Police discovered a bogus degree business and seized degrees and mark sheets from more than four dozen fake universities.
The general knowledge portion of the 2022 competitive exam for second-grade teachers was cancelled as a result of the paper leak. The test was moved to January 29.
