Chennai: Legendary actor Rajinikanth has embarked on a journey from Chennai to New Delhi to attend Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9. Expressing his views to the media, Rajinikanth hailed Modi's assumption of office for the third term as Prime Minister as a significant milestone, highlighting it as a positive indication of a vibrant democracy.

Rajinikanth is set to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi and his new Cabinet on Sunday. Before departing from Chennai to Delhi, Rajinikanth underscored the historical significance of Modi's consecutive third term as Prime Minister, comparing it to the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru. He emphasized the importance of a robust opposition, noting that the recent elections have resulted in the election of a formidable opposition, which he believes will contribute to a healthy democratic process.

Expressing his optimism, Rajinikanth conveyed his expectations for the next five years, anticipating good governance under Modi's leadership. Additionally, he mentioned receiving an invitation for Chandrababu Naidu's swearing-in ceremony as Andhra Pradesh CM, indicating his consideration of attending the event.

The swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is scheduled to commence at 7:15 PM at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event will witness the presence of dignitaries and special invitees from neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean Region. In preparation for the occasion, traffic restrictions and airspace curbs have been implemented in the national capital.
