Rajinikanth Meets Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Watches His Film 'Jailer' in Lucknow

Lucknow: Tamil film icon Rajinikanth paid a visit to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Saturday. During his visit, he joined the chief minister for a viewing of his recent hit film "Jailer." Rajinikanth expressed his gratitude for the movie's success, calling it a blessing from God.

Before their meeting, a special screening of "Jailer" took place in Lucknow, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Maurya praised Rajinikanth's acting prowess, noting that the actor's performances elevate the film's significance even if the content is limited. Rajinikanth also had an interaction with Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel during his visit, which was shared on the governor's social media handle.

The acclaimed 72-year-old actor is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Sunday for another event. Prior to his Uttar Pradesh trip, Rajinikanth was in Jharkhand, where he visited the renowned Chhinnamasta Temple and engaged in meditation at 'Yagoda Ashram' in Ranchi. He also met with Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan.

Rajinikanth's latest film, "Jailer," has been enjoying substantial success at the box office, accumulating a total collection of ₹235.65 crore in eight days as of August 17. The film, directed by Nelson, portrays Rajinikanth in the role of a father seeking revenge for his deceased police officer son. The cast of "Jailer" includes Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan, along with notable appearances by Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.
