During the first term of PM Narendra Modi, there was a slight increase in the prize money of National Sports Awards, but now preparations have been made to make these awards in Modi-2. The sports ministry has tightened its back for a huge increase in the prize money of the National Sports Awards.

The prize money of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honor, is being increased by 70 percent, not 10 or 20. That is, for the highest sports honor, till now, seven and a half lakh rupees are given. Now preparations have been made to increase this amount to Rs 25 lakh. It will be announced soon by the sports minister Kiren Rijiju.

Arjuna Award will increase three times
The prize money of the prestigious Arjuna Award is going to be 3 times. Now 5 lakh rupees are given to the players for this award, but preparations have been made to increase this amount to 15 lakh rupees. Like the players, it was also said that the prize money of the National Sports Awards is very less. The ministry also understood this and has prepared a proposal to increase the amount. Not only this, the prize money of Dhyanchand Award and Life Time Dronacharya Award is also being increased. 5 lakh rupees is given for both these awards, but now for this prize money of 15 lakh rupees is to be given.
